In our February issue dedicated to seniors, we asked our readers to submit a favourite grandparent photo. Look at the beautiful photos we received!

My Grandma Winnie (Acton) and Aiden reading a book. Submitted by Elizabeth Acton.

This is a picture of my daughter, Lynda Hansen (age 5) with her Opa (Grandpa), Pieter Kool. Opa has some Norwegian background and often wears this kind of sweater so we couldn't resist taking a picture of him with his only granddaughter in cosy Norwegian style sweaters. Submitted by Elinor Hansen.

It is a picture of my parents, Barry and Doris, taken last winter on the hill at Uxbridge Public School. My parents had not been sledding in years, but they could not pass up the opportunity to spend a fun afternoon with their kids and four grandchildren. We all had a blast, and it was good for everyone to see my parents having so much fun, as my dad was battling melanoma at the time. He has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and is facing many weeks of radiation treatment. I know seeing this picture in your magazine would be a good reminder to all of us to make sure we have fun together whenever we can. Submitted by Kathy Sima.

My Grandparents will be celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary this November. They still live on their own in Zephyr. Their names are Marjorie & John McFarlane. Submitted by Roberta.

Cameron and his great grandparents at their 60th wedding anniversary Luau. You can feel the love by the smile on Great Grandpa's face! Submitted by April Patch.

Here's a pick of my Grandma (Marg McNelly) - She rocks and is one happening, hip little lady! Submitted by Julie Morris.

Submitted by Debbie de Ville

Baby Kaylie, me, my mom, my Grandma, my Great Grandma -5 consecutive female generations! Taken Mother's Day 1992. Submitted by Tracey Hutchinson.

My daughter Abby Farthing (4 1/2) and my grandfather – Abby’s Great Grandfather Carl Bearden (lives in Butternut Manor) Carl just adores his little great grand daughter and lights up everytime she is around. If she’s in the room you can be sure that his focus is on what she is doing and he ever intently watches and listens to what she says and does.

My two children with my grandmother after they have each chosen a few pairs of hand-knit winter mitts from the mitt drawer. I think Grandma knit over 100 pairs last year and what was leftover after the grandkids and great-grandkids had chosen, she sent off to charity. The photo was taken in September 2010, just before her 102nd birthday. Sadly she passed away just before Christmas, but thankfully we have the mitts as a wonderful warm memory and haven't lost one yet! Submitted by Cindy Finlay.
